It's Been a Long Time Sharing
Wow! I had forgotten that I had an account and I found it when I was renewing my gmail account. I thought I would drop a quick note and bookmark some great site that I found.

Manteo Revisited
It has been a year since I was able to visit my second home. My mom and I enjoyed a day in Manteo and we ate lunch overlooking the inlet. Remembering some of the sights and forgotten sounds in the streets was really nice. We rode around the town and remembered some of the by gone buildings that used to be there. Foodarama is on the bypass which used to be on Budleigh Street. It was there that I first meet Andy Griffith in the late 1960s. Also, we rode back to where the old Cloth Barn used to stand and found a Quilt Shop. They had beautiful Downton Abbey fabric an of course, we came home with a bag.

Same Old Day
As I look over the last posting, I realize that I have been up to much of the same. The garden is growing strawberries, squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, and everything the you saw last year. I am still making charity quilts for the hospital and I hope to have several finished to photograph for the blog update.
I am looking forward to June 11, when graduation will come and go. It seems that it has been a long school year and I am looking forward to some vacation time. Jimmy is home at last. The last 14 months in Northern Virginia may have been nice to the bank account, but it was not easy with him away. I can't wait for summer evenings in the yard.

Page in the Garden
It has been a busy Spring with a lot of activities. Getting to Graduation 2013 final arrived on Friday. I have been gardening just a little since March. Jimmy built a couple more frames and we have already eaten tomatoes and squash. Currently we have over seven vegetables and 10 herbs growing. The cucumbers are coming in and I have a softball size spaghetti squash hanging on the frame.

Charity Quilts
I have been busy on the weekends trying to meet my Breakfast Bunch Bee's challenge to charity quilts for the hospital. The challenge was to use donated fabric to make two quilts by the meeting in March. I added a few pieces from my stash to make five quilts. How exciting. The first quilt is a take off of "Carpenter's Star" and uses the black skull fabric. I added purple and gray fabrics from my stash to make it pop!
The second and third quilts use mostly donation fabrics but I added the black from stash to compliment the pretty print. I was able to make two quilts from the donation fabrics.
And lastly, I had to go with the red, white and blue to make patriotics. I even used the scraps to make backings.

March Mini Quilt
Keeping up with the challenge has been limited to weekends. Thank goodness these quilts are small. This is my March Baskets from Kathy Tracey's challenge.
